The importance of prayer is emphasized by Paul

ACTS of prayer:
Adoration - Confession - Thanksgiving - Supplication

v6  Three elements of effective prayer:
Prayer * Supplication * Thanksgiving

1)  Prayer -  involves adoration, devotion, worship, being still and knowing HE  is God - knowing that I have to let go and let God work His purpose

Psalms 139:17,18  He knows us

Psalms 103: 13,14  He knows our composure - He created us !

2)  Supplication - God wants us to be earnest in our petitions

Matthew 7:7,8  ask - seek - knock

God wants more than just words, He wants supplication

Hebrews 5: 7,8  Christ was an example for us

3)  Thanksgiving - anticipate and expect God’s answer
Luke 17: 11-17  Ten lepers

v7  Peace: 
            the promise -  guards your heart and mind !

We spend most of our prayer time telling God what we want, when we should invest as much time thanking and praising Him !

True prayer is a way of life, not just in case of emergency
