Yield

“Whom have I in heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You. 26. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever.” Psalms 73:25,26 (Amp)

In our driving, “yield” means to give the “right of away” to someone else. In the spiritual sense, we are saying that we are giving Almighty God the “right of way” of our lives yielding to His power and His control.

Read: Romans 6:6-18

How Do I Yield?
I. Admit that God’s Way Is The Best Way

2 Corinthians 10:5 bring yourself subject to Christ

Matthew 6:33 seek first His spiritual Kingdom purpose

"My thoughts are completely different from yours," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8,9 (NLT)

II. We Must Surrender Our Lives To Almighty God

Matthew 11:28-30 be yoked together with Him

1 John 2:6 walk in His way

vs. 12,13 do not be used as a tool to wickedness and sin

Psalms 73:25,26 only He can bring ultimate satisfaction

III. We Must Obey God’s directives For Our Lives

We can listen to what God is saying, and we can agree to everything He says and yet not yield, actually do nothing about it!

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.” James 4:3 (NASB)

IV. Why should I Yield To God?

1) we will experience spiritual success when we yield to the Lord

2) we will experience spiritual satisfaction never experienced

3) we will experience surety of who we are and where our spiritual strength and power comes from

“Those who trust in the LORD are as secure as Mount Zion ; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. 2. Just as the mountains surround and protect Jerusalem , so the LORD surrounds and protects his people, both now and forever.” Psalms 125:1,2 (NLT)

Is Jesus in the back seat- or is He in the drivers seat of your life ?
