Ask
“Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so the shining-greatness of
the Father may be seen in the Son. 14.
Yes, if you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
John
Prayer is our
avenue of communication with God. Do
you use the power of prayer sparingly, or do you pray in faith-
believing God hears and will answer you?
It Does matter
if you pray!
background:
Daniel 9:5-11 Daniel prays
for his brethren
Read:
Daniel 10:1-14
*
Prayer mattered to Daniel because he prayed 3 times every day, in
his room, in the lion’s den, for wisdom, guidance, and God’s forgiveness for
His people
*
Jesus taught us to pray and never give up.
see: Luke 18:1-7
I.
Why Continue To Ask?
v.10-12
humble yourself before God
Daniel 9:23 God heard him as
soon as he began to pray- an answer
was given and on the way!
II.
Wait For The Answer
v.13 like a play between acts when the curtain is closed- things are happening which will be revealed to us
“Are not the angels all ministering spirits
(servants) sent out in the service [of God for the assistance] of those who are
to inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:14 (Amp)
III. Do Not Be Tempted To Give Up On God’s Answering
* Jesus
taught us that we should always pray and not give up because:
1) it opens to us the Power of God 2)
it makes us listen for Him 3) it
reveals His ultimate Love and care for us.
* Prayer
should never be a passive act on our part.
“We are certain that God will hear our
prayers when we ask for what pleases him.”
1 John 45:14 (CEV)
“If you get your life from Me and My Words
live in you, ask whatever you want. It will be done for you.”
John 15:7
(NLV)
"Ask, and what you are asking for will be
given to you. Look, and what you are looking for you will find. Knock, and the
door you are knocking on will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7 (Amp)
