Moses: God’s Deliverer
“Moses was taught in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He became a powerful man in words and in the things he did.” Acts 7:22 NLV
Baby Moses’ faint cry touched the heart of Pharaoh’s daughter. His sister Miriam, was watching Moses float on the Nile River from a safe distance with a God inspired plan. In this unusual motherly way, God ultimately preserved Moses and a nation from being killed off by Pharaoh
Read Exodus 2:1-10 Amram: father, Jochebed: mother, Miriam: sister, Pharaoh’s daughter
God’s Grand Plan: Jochebed is being paid to raise her own son; but she only has a limited time to teach him the Jewish ways. We also have our children but for a season- time then, is important
* now in bondage as slaves, God’s chosen people needed a deliverer
* the Egyptian midwives were instructed to kill all Jewish baby boys
Genesis 15:13,14 Abraham knew of God’s plan of preservation
* it’s been nearly 400 years since Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
* God’s delays are not denials- He promised a deliverer to His people
Titus 1:1-3 our deliverer also came as a baby
* Amram and Jochebed must have had mixed emotions with a boy
* the Nile River contained crocodiles and other bad things !
* today the devil uses subtle and sinister ways to attack our children
* music, movies, tv, video games, books, advertising and personalities
* Godly mother’s today, are also concerned for their children’s welfare
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 it is a 24 / 7 job to protect and teach
* today, the notion of sheltering and nurturing is a bad thing-
* eventually they’re going to be exposed to it, so what’s the use
* we can not allow ungodliness to enter under our roofs
* almost every situation contains a Godly teaching opportunity
* Jesus said, “be in this world, but not of this world”
