Ministers of God

Ministry : You were shaped for serving God PDL Purpose #4

“To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.” Rev. 1:6

Minister: 1. A servant, an attendant 2. One to whom the head of government entrusts management 3. A diplomat of a government
4. One duly authorized to conduct spiritual functions of a church

Note: when you are committed to serving God, you will naturally become involved in the lives of others by service unto Him

* We must understand as God’s people (ministers) :
1) who we are in Christ 2) why we must do what we do

Read : 1 Peter 2:1-10

What: v5 holy priesthood - living stones
v9 royal priesthood - chosen people

How: Acts 2:38 a changed lifestyle
Galatians 3:27 be prepared

Why: As priests (ministers) of God :
1) we have the right to do the work of the Lord
2) we have the privilege of coming to the Lord in prayer
3) we have the right to partake in communion
4) we have the right to bring others to Christ
5) we have the responsibility of knowing and teaching the word of God to others who don’t know about it

Therefore: Anyone who is a believer in Christ is a MINISTER -
and is empowered by God to do His work here on earth

11 And His gifts were varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. 12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), that they should do the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), 13 That it might develop until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the full and accurate knowledge of the Son of God, that we might arrive at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him. Eph.4:11-13 (Amplified)
