Godly Men

         “Many a man proclaims his own loving-kindness and goodness, but a faithful man who can find?”  Proverbs 20:6  Amp

    Proverbs asks us a sobering question.  Are there any faithful men left in this world?  It seems all we hear about are the dad’s in prison, or who are absentee fathers.  The Bible has  many examples and stories of men of God doing as God instructed them-  behaving Godly!  What can we learn from the Word?

Read Psalms 112: 1-10

I.  The Need For Godly Men

*  who:  business, nation, families, church, and the world for sure

*  the survival of the family especially,  needs a strong male figure

*  mothers have their God ordained part in the family as well

*   it’s the men who have to start being what God wants them to be

II.  David As An Example

*  David was an outdoors- brave “Man’s” man  he was a warrior

*  David was a man with many responsibilities as a shepherd

*  David was a musician, composer and writer

*  David was not that good as a husband, but recognized his failure

*  David was a spiritual man who knew he served a living God

*  David was one of the greatest Statesman and King ever

III.  How That Change Can Be Made

*  v.1  fear the Lord and follow His commandments (Word)

*  v.2  his children will be blessed because of it

*  v.3,4  he will teach and show compassion to his children

*  v.5   there is a promise concerning his daily conduct

*  v.6-8  his confidence in the Lord will be established and strong

*  v.9  because of his charity (giving of self to others) he is blessed

*  v.10  he will become and be a Godly example to the world

            Psalms 1:1-3  He will be blessed by God 

The world, families, the church need Men of God more than ever
