v17    “good teacher” , what can I  “do”   to work for salvation

v20     I’m good enough on my own

v21     Jesus looked on him with compassion -  
            and said,  “come follow me”

v22     He counted the cost and walked away - sad

note: an inward rebellious attitude that exalts self  is  sin and defies God

Justification is by Faith -
          Galatians 2:16-21 ;   Ephesians 2:8-10

A covetous spirit is a terrible sin - only a living faith in God’s grace brings salvation !

In the Christian life we must lose to gain; we must give to obtain; we must be humble to be exalted; we must be least to be greatest; we must die to live !
