A Caring Heart Displayed

Jesus placed great value on everyone regardless of their background

“And anyone who is not offended because of Me is blessed.” Luke 7:23   (HCSB)

John 12:42   indicates that some chief rulers believed on Jesus- 
    but because of the Pharisees, they didn’t openly confess Him

v36-38  A Desperate Heart
            1)  despised prostitute
            2)  a servant attitude
            3)  brokenness - hopeless
                        Isaiah 61:1  “The spirit of the Lord is upon me;...”
                        Psalms 34:18  “The Lord is nigh unto them...”

 v39  A Jealous Heart
            Jesus was treated rudely by his host Simon
    Matthew 25:31-40; 41-46 “...when saw we thee a stranger...?”

 v40-47  A Jealous Heart Challenged
            Simon was a self-righteous Pharisee  
            Jesus looked upon her heart, not her past deeds
     Psalms 51:17  ...the sacrifices of God are a broken heart...

 v48-50  A Desperate Heart Rewarded
    II Corinthians 7:1  ...let us cleanse ourselves...
   Hebrews 11:6  He is a rewarder of those who sincerely seek Him

   An attitude of gratitude looks for something good in every situation !
