A Spiritual Second Wind

 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."  Deuteronomy 31:6 (NASB)

*  Sometimes we have a feeling of:  there’s no use,  the harder I try, no one listens to me,  how can there be happiness in the daily grind

*  Sometimes God’s people do need a 2nd wind!
            Moses :  the greatest leader-  Numbers 11:11,14
            Joshua :  the greatest General-  Joshua 7:6,7
            Elijah :  greatest prophet of O.T. (1 Kings 18) 1 Kings 19:1-4
            Job  :  a truly patient man of faith-  Job 3:1-4

 Read:  Acts 18:1-11 2nd missionary journey- arriving from Athens

        I Corinthians 2:1-5  Paul was far from strong, nervous, stressed
v.5   was feeling pressed in the sprit, sense of failure, unappreciated
       II Cor. 12:15   the Corinthians ...I give, but you don’t respond...

 but:   v.11  HE DIDN’T QUIT !
            why? (v.9,10)  God told him it’s too soon to quit

As God’s children (workers) He gives us promises for when we sometimes need a  2nd wind.       Promises of:

 v.10   1.  God’s Presence    
            Matt. 1:23   God with us...    Matt. 28:20  I am with you always
            Psalms 23:4  ...for thou art with me...
            Hebrews 13:5,6  ...I will  never leave you...

 v.10  2.  God’s Protection
            Philippians 1:21   ...for me to live...
            II Timothy 4:6,7 Paul ...I have finished my course  
            John 19:30    Jesus ...it is finished

 v.10b  3.  God’s Powerful Potential
            How could God say that?  God didn’t look on the people’s sin, but rather upon the people He created to work for HIm !
            I Corinthians 6:9-11  ...and such were some of you...
