A Formula for Praise
“Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my
supplications. 7 The Lord is my Strength and my
impenetrable Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on
Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will
I praise Him.” Psalms 28:6,7
(Amp)
In life, we must choose whether we will walk the path of praise or just
continue to follow the avenue of the average everyday hum drum.
God is pleased when we give Him all our praise and honor- in any way we
can ! “Lord,
teach me what you want me to do, and I will live by your truth. Teach me to
respect you completely. 12 Lord, my God, I will praise you with all my
heart, and I will honor your name
forever.” Psalms 86:11,12
(NCV) Read:
Psalms 34:1-8 We
should praise Him personally * nobody can praise God
for you * we all praise Him in or unique way, with our own style and our own voice -our praise comes from our own unique circumstances We
should praise God verbally * with our
mouth- not just in our heart!
Hebrews Psalms 89:1,2 declare His goodness by speaking it ! * in good times as well as in bad times- we need to praise Him the most when we are down and discouraged * faith is expressed in the battle- not on the mountaintop after II. v3-7 Why Should We Praise
God? Your
faith will be bolstered * we need victories and the path of praise will lead us there * it brings us healing and puts all things in perspective * it’s not about “me”- it’s about praising God for His
strength Numbers 13:30-33; 14:6-9 Joshua & Caleb’s firm belief in God’s strength to see them through * today, more than ever, we live in a world of “fear” * fear is the foundation of self centeredness- my own strength
2 Chronicles 20:20-22 Jehoshaphat’s
victory by praise III. v8 The Challenge
1 Chronicles 29:10-13 everything comes from God
Psalms 111: 1-3 I will be an
example of praise
Psalms 113:1-3 acknowledge the greatness of God! Which path will you travel? Average Ave. or Praise Path |
