Jesus
Christ is God incarnate. He was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life.
He died on the cross in the place of the sinner, and His shed blood is the
atonement for our sins. Jesus rose from the dead, and ascended to the right
hand of God, and He will make a personal return to earth in power and glory.
28Thomas
said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
6 For
to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his
shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of his
government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and
over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish
this.
1In
the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in
various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken
to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made
the universe. 3The Son is the radiance of God's
glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his
powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child
and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
26Such
a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from
sinners, exalted above the heavens.
2He is
the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins
of the whole world.
21God
made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the
righteousness of God.
3For
what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for
our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was
buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and
that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
9After
he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from
their sight. 10They were looking intently up into
the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside
them. 11"Men of Galilee," they said,
"why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been
taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go
into heaven."
21"His
master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful
with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your
master's happiness!'
